The Future

The Southdown Church Centre

The plans for the sale of Oldfield Park and the refurbishment of the Southdown Centre are well advanced, moving us closer to our vision of a refurbished, all purpose church and community centre in Southdown. It will then be possible for the members from Oldfield Park to worship at Southdown.

The Project

The work of the Project will continue as a separate entity and the appointment of Deacon Steph Ford, who replaced Deacon Joan in September, is for 5 years.

We are thus anticipating a long term future for the work in Southdown and there will inevitably be some changes as the Project evaluates, expands and develops to meet the needs of the community. We look to a future of great promise and hope. We have been fortunate to secure a deacon appointment at a time when deacons are in short supply, we have the possibility of a renewed building in the not too distant future and we have people who value our presence in the area.
